Love in Lockdown

I'm falling for someone I've never met. We met through an online dating app, this was just before we went into lockdown and we had planned to meet on the day of Janta Curfew, but needless to say we have not met each other. It was initially uncomfortably comfortable. Speaking to him was easy, we moved from chatting on the app, to Instagram, then Whatsapp and now we are constantly on video chat. He isn't Catfishing me, which is a relief. But is it normal to be madly in love with someone I have not touched.

Helplessly in Virtual Love

Falling in love is filled with soo many joys, it’s the butterflies in your stomach, staying awake day dreaming of the perosn and the excitement at the prospect of meeting them. Yes, things have not fallen in the “conventional” order for you – but honestly, who cares? As long you are feeling heard, understood, and loved. I guess, you embraced the initial awkwardness of them seeing you with bed hair and in your PJs but there’s still the excitement of dressing up, going out on your first date or long drives together. Even if the story of your lockdown love is devoid of physical touch, it does not mean it can’t happen post lockdown. If it feels right, trust yourself, and go with it. A lot may change post lockdown, but living in the future takes away the joy of today. Enjoy the sweet romance you have growing!
