Getting out of Here

I've planned and worked hard to get out this city and move to university overseas. But now with COVID-19 all of these plans seem to be pushed away. There's a feeling of helplessness and being stuck. While I recognize this may not last forever, having to live another year in this city when all I can do is dream of getting out here

Dreaming of an Exit

Firstly, Congratulations on getting accepted into university overseas, I can see it was fruit of your hard work. I know it is disheartening that things have not gone according to your plan, and all of this derailment was out of your control.
The pandemic and the lockdown has put a lot of our plans on hold, and some derailed. The constant worries of timelines for exams, college essays, and applications have all taken a back seat leaving most of us clueless about what to expect or how to move forward.
In life, this is probably the first thing that may not have gone according to your plan, and that’s okay – disheartening but okay. What this experience does is that it prepares you to keep “rolling with the punches” and embrace the need for adaptability and making the most of a given situation. Remember the cliche “when one door closes, another opens” – it holds true. A lot of people have had some of their best experiences when things did not go according to plan.
This derailment may just be the start of an exciting chapter in your life.
